The Community Development Corporation of South Berkshire was originally founded for the purposes of local business support and Main Street revitalization. CDCSB continues work to stimulate regional job creation by supporting local business expansion and new business creation with commercial real estate development for locally owned businesses.

Commercial real estate development is a key component of several of CDCSB’s affordable housing projects that are mixed-use sites containing both housing and commercial space. 100 Bridge Street, located two blocks off of Main Street in Great Barrington, will provide 40,000 sq. ft. of commercial space and act as an extension of downtown. The redevelopment of Housatonic School will include 10,000 sq. ft. of commercial space in a building that is located in the heart of Housatonic. The school’s redevelopment will attract retail outlets, restaurants, and other businesses that will boost the economic vitality of the village and create jobs.
