100 Bridge Street
Great Barrington, MA

To read the current Remedial Implementation Plan for remediating 100 Bridge Street, here.
Located in the heart of downtown Great Barrington, along the Housatonic River, 100 Bridge Street exemplifies economic, ecological, and social sustainability by combining a community-first focus with planet-minded living: remediating an 8-acre contaminated and blighted site, restoring natural riverfront, creating a wide economic spectrum of housing units in a single neighborhood, all within a five minute walk to the core of downtown with jobs, shopping and cultural amenities.
Central to the project is the creation of community housing. Bentley Apartments will have 45 units of affordable family-friendly apartments, including units for special populations. This diverse community will live together within walking distance to jobs, shopping and town amenities. The goal for these buildings is net zero carbon emissions.
With an eye towards both conservation of riverfront land and the importance of public outdoor community spaces, 100 Bridge Street plans include a 1-acre riverfront park and public space in a large village green that can host formal community events and casual sunny day encounters.
CDCSB was awarded funding by Massachusetts Department of Housing and Community Development for Bentley Apartments. When construction commences, 100% of the site will simultaneously be remediated.
