100 Bridge Street

Great Barrington, MA

Located in the heart of downtown Great Barrington, along the Housatonic River, 100 Bridge Street exemplifies economic, ecological, and social sustainability by combining a community-first focus with planet-minded living. The redevelopment of the former New England Log Homes site will be carried out in phases - each important on its own, but much greater as a whole.

Central to the project is the creation of community housing. A mix of luxury condos with river views, mixed-income family-friendly apartments, and ADA accessible units will mean that all members of our community will be able to find a space that’s right for them. Our goal for these buildings is net zero carbon emissions. In addition to housing, the site will be home to 35,000 sq. ft. of eco-commercial space featuring retail and office space.

With an eye towards both conservation of riverside land and the importance of public outdoor community spaces, 100 Bridge Street plans also include public green space in a large village green that can host formal community events and casual sunny day encounters and a 2-acre riverfront park.

As the project is developed, the site will be capped and safe from toxins. In August of 2015, the Massachusetts Department of Environmental Protection (DEP) terminated the experimental bioremediation process and directed that the site be remediated by capping, which was the originally-approved plan of remediating the site with a cap of compacted clean soil, building foundations and parking areas. Capping will occur simultaneously with construction, as the site is redeveloped.
